Students joining current topics classes expect to explore global issues, build fluency, and develop critical thinking skills. Facing Challenges helps them meet these goals. Each unit draws on students' background knowledge of an SDG-related topic and includes videos, readings, and academic listenings featuring Japan-specific infographics. Units culminate in communicative tasks asking students to plan and propose local projects. Students are also invited to write reflectively on their learning.
