Description
Textbooks are often treated as a sequence of exercises rather than a springboard for communication. Drawing on examples from the intermediate-level EFL textbook Express It!, this practical workshop shows teachers how to extend model conversations, grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, listening, and speaking tasks into purposeful communicative work. Using a structure-to-freedom approach, participants will explore techniques for scaffolding activities, increasing student output, building fluency, and adapting familiar textbook material for more engaging classroom use.
