Chukyo University, Nagoya
Friday, May 23 - Sunday, May 24, 2026

2026 PanSIG CONFERENCE

This is our call for presentation proposals. Please read the submission instructions before submitting your proposal.

The JALT PanSIG2026 Conference will take place from May 23th to 24th, 2026, at Chukyo University in Nagoya. It will be a face-to-face event.
The theme for PanSIG2026 is Building Language Competencies Through Community. As usual, the event is planned, organized, and hosted together with JALT’s 30 special interest groups, or SIGs.

For more information about the conference, please visit our website: https://pansig.org/ or follow our social media: https://pansig.org/social-media.

CALL FOR PRESENTATION PROPOSALS

The Call for Presentation Proposals for the JALT PanSIG2026 Conference is now open.
* The call is open to both JALT and non-JALT members in Japan or overseas;
* We especially encourage first-time presenters;
* Proposals should reflect the conference theme and relate to the research area of a specific JALT Special Interest Group (SIG). For more information on individual SIGs, see the JALT page at https://jalt.org/main/groups;
* Abstracts regarding research items or projects which are still incomplete at the time of submission are also welcome;
* Abstract writing workshops are held periodically and open to JALT members and non-members; check our website and social networks for dates.
* We accept submissions in English and Japanese, as well as French, German, Hungarian, Italian, Romanian, and Spanish. For proposals submitted in languages other than English, we request a short English description for vetting purposes. Please also suggest two potential reviewers familiar with the language of your submission.

When you submit your proposal, you can choose from the following face-to-face options:
1. Research or Practice-oriented Oral Presentation (25 minutes, including Q&A)
Present on Saturday or Sunday of the conference. This is an excellent choice for people who want live audience interaction.
2. Poster session
Present a research poster to a live audience at the event. Posters will be paper-based. Presenters must be on hand to present and discuss their research throughout their session.
3. SIG Sponsored Forum or Poster
Conditions and deadlines for this category will be sent directly to SIG Representatives at a later date.

DEADLINE

Proposals for “1.” and “2.” must be submitted by Monday, January 19, 2026, at 11:59 pm. Responses regarding your submissions will be sent via email from mid-February 2026. Those who are requested to revise their submissions will be notified in mid-February, with a revision deadline of mid-March. If you submit a presentation proposal but do not receive any correspondence about its status by the end of February, 2026, please contact the conference organizers.

SUBMITTING A PROPOSAL

Presentation Proposals may be submitted from Saturday, November 8th, 2025 via: https://events.jalt.org/category/16/ When submitting your abstract, please follow the submission instructions which are available from the submission form.

NUMBER OF PRESENTATIONS PER PERSON

An individual may only submit one proposal as lead presenter and may appear in only one other proposal as a co-presenter. Excess submissions will be declined if a presenter is listed in more than two proposals. Since the whole proposal, not simply one presenter, will be eliminated, this will result in co-presenters being eliminated as well, even if they have not exceeded the limit for proposals. Please note that this limit applies to vetted submissions. SIG forums and other sponsored presentations are not included in this total.

The call for abstracts is closed.
