 y-Building in the EFL Classroom\nEmpathy is considered crucial to intercul
 tural communication. The presenter will first describe a study that examin
 ed a link between reading English haiku and empathy. This study found that
  reflecting upon English haiku over one semester led to a significant incr
 ease in the empathy levels of Japanese medical students. Next\, the presen
 ter will introduce activities that aim to increase empathy by making stude
 nts aware of their own feelings\, the feelings of others\, and how to resp
 ond appropriately. Participants will leave this presentation armed with ac
 tivities to help their own students become more empathetic communicators.\

 て共感は極めて重要とされています。発表者はまず、
 英語の俳句を読むことと共感の関連性を検証した研究
 を紹介します。この研究では、日本の医学生が1学期に
 わたり英語の俳句を考察した結果、共感レベルが著し
 く向上したことが明らかになりました。次に、学生自
 身の感情や他者の感情を自覚させ、適切な対応方法を
 学ぶことで共感力を高める活動を紹介します。参加者
 は本発表を通じて、自身の学生がより共感的なコミュ
 ニケーション能力を身につけるための実践手法を習得
