 ble Development Goals are having quite the impact on not only the awarenes
 s of sustainability issues but also how we understand and teach about thos
 e issues. In this talk\, I will show how I and some of my colleagues use t
 he UNSDGs to teach English. Our fundamental mission is to get students com
 fortable owning their message using the English they have and not overcomp
 licating the learning process. At the same time\, we want to broaden their
  horizons with content that will be critical to their futures. \nSpeaker 
 Bio:\nWayne Malcolm is a senior lecturer at Fukuui University of Technolog
 y. He has a doctorate of education focusing on leadership\, curriculum and
  instruction. His main research interests are global competence\, task- an
 d project-based learning\, and communicative language teaching practices.\
