Description
This study examined how artificial intelligence (AI) can be meaningfully integrated into English language instruction. The research aimed to investigate the effects of structured AI-guided pronunciation practice using ChatGPT on Thai undergraduate EFL students’ intonation performance. Employing a quasi-experimental mixed-methods design over a 21-day intervention, the study compared outcomes between an experimental group using structured AI prompts and a control group without guided input. Quantitative findings revealed improvement in both groups, while qualitative data indicated increased awareness, confidence, and learner autonomy through AI interaction. Although the statistical difference was not significant, participants reported enhanced motivation and reduced anxiety, suggesting that AI-supported learning can create psychologically safe environments conducive to language development. The results emphasize that impactful teaching transcends content delivery. It involves designing experiences that connect cognitive, emotional, and technological dimensions. Integrating AI within a blended pedagogical framework allows educators to cultivate meaningful, reflective, and student-centered learning experiences that sustain long-term language growth.
