Description

This presentation offers language educators a practical, step-by-step blueprint for adjusting and deploying customized AI Agents to enhance writing instruction and activities across any target language, focusing on giving teachers the ability to modify the AI's function and transforming traditional writing activities into highly efficient, proficiency-based tasks. The core content focuses on the technical process of customizing AI agents: every attendee will learn how to create their own customized agent by modifying it to meet specific classroom needs, and no advanced ICT skills are required. Writing scaffolds, such as can-do statements, are used as the basis for student assignments, and the AI provides students with thorough and instant feedback. Crucially, this customized feedback goes beyond simple correction, offering detailed error detection, clear explanations of underlying grammatical rules, and relevant examples, providing immediate, targeted support that helps students quickly fix errors and mitigates the risk of language fossilization. The presenter will share practical classroom examples demonstrating how custom agents via MS365 can be integrated into writing assignments to boost student confidence in writing output and reduce teacher workload, ensuring attendees gain the foundational knowledge and ability to immediately integrate these tools into their own writing activities.
