Description
In my personal life, I go online for a few minutes to answer a small question. One thing leads to another and I realize I have spent hours covering a wide variety of topics. All powered by curiosity, as explained by Kidd (2015). This can be transferred to the classroom through the activity described in this presentation. The activity asks students to choose any topic they have an interest in and freely explore, moving from topic to topic. They must note each topic and URLs they explore and then create a poster with their results including a timeline of how much time and how many topics they examined. The crossing borders characteristic of the activity goes from the personal realm to the classroom, and then the results can be shared with other classes in the same building, institution, or a classroom in a completely different city or country using Zoom.
