ABSTRACT
An increasing number of recruiters have turned to AI to screen applicants and interview candidates, prompting research into AI-human rating reliability (Suen et al., 2020), the perception of employers and job seekers regarding AI use (Kim & Heo, 2022), and teacher preparation for AI adoption (Pokrivčáková, 2019).
To prepare students in workplace English programmes for AI-driven recruitment processes and enhance their interviewing skills, our team has launched a project using the AI interview platform Neufast to offer practical interview experience.
This presentation will share insights from students and teachers in three undergraduate programmes-- Business and Finance, Hotel and Catering, and Construction and Environmental Professions --who used Neufast as a learning and teaching tool. The presenter will analyse data from student reflection reports, surveys and focus group interviews to evaluate the platform’s effectiveness in enhancing interview skills and their readiness to participate in this type of interview. Additionally, the presentation will assess the pedagogical outcomes, and the platform’s potential to enhance students’ communication skills, and the challenges teachers may face when integrating it into their curriculum.
