Description

This study investigates the use of AI-assisted tools in presentation preparation among non-native English-speaking students. Fifty EFL learners created three-minute presentations using both AI and traditional image search methods. Data from the QAIUM questionnaire and open-ended responses revealed that AI improved efficiency, reduced repetitive tasks, and supported idea generation. However, traditional methods highlighted students' independent skills. A mixed approach combining AI's convenience with learners’ creativity emerged as the most effective strategy for enhancing learning outcomes.

Summary

This study explores AI-assisted tools in presentation preparation for non-native English-speaking students. Fifty EFL students used AI and traditional methods to prepare three-minute presentations. The study employed a questionnaire (QAIUM) and open-ended questions to assess efficiency, creativity, and ease of use. Findings indicate AI enhances efficiency, reduces repetitive tasks, and provides diverse inspiration. However, traditional methods highlight individual skills. A mixed approach is favored, combining AI’s convenience with personal creativity for optimal learning outcomes.
