Call for Papers
CUE and GALE SIGs wish to announce a call for papers for a joint fall 2026 conference. This 2-day event welcomes CUE and GALE members as well as any non-members to submit abstracts to present slideshow or poster presentations.
Date: October 10-11, 2026
Venue: Kanazawa Institute of Technology - Ohgigaoka Campus
Submission Deadline: July 25, 2026 at 11:59pm
All presenters have the opportunity to publish.
Presentation abstracts will be accepted about any of the following:
Equity: Ensuring fair access, participation, and support for all learners and educators.
Identity: Recognizing and valuing the diverse backgrounds, roles, and experiences that teachers or students bring.
Agency: Fostering empowerment and enabling learners and educators to make meaningful choices and shape their interactions and contexts.
Presentation Contents and Relevance:
The presentations should be relevant to either CUE-related topics or GALE-related topics, or they may overlap.
- CUE (College and University Educators)-related topics should be related to tertiary-level education and the conference theme
- GALE (Gender Awareness in Language Education)-related topics on the conference theme may choose gender-related issues in tertiary education, other educational levels, or even business situations
Types of Presentations
Research-oriented presentations (25-minutes, including Q&A)
These should:
- clearly identify a research topic,
- briefly review relevant literature,
- outline the research methodology and key findings, and
- discuss the implications for theory and/or after you have read the Call for Presenters PDF below.
Practice-oriented presentations (25-minutes, including Q&A)
These should:
- Explain a practical technique related to teaching, assessment, or other educational practices.
- Demonstrate a hands-on professional development experience; and
- Give participants the opportunity to actively learn and practice a new skill.
Interactive Poster Presentations
- Interactive poster presentations are expected to provide charts, graphs, and information that is clearly indicated in order to ensure discussion between presenters and audience
- Recommended size and layout:
- A0 size (portrait) A0 size landscape might be too wide
Alternative: A1 (portrait/landscape)
- It is highly recommended to have your posters printed in matte rather than gloss.It is also expected for poster presenters to print their materials prior to coming to the venue.
- Audiovisual equipment will not be provided as an alternative to posters.
Requirements:
- Presentation Title (# of Words): Maximum of 12 words
- Author(s): (Given names first, family names last)
- Affiliation: (i.e. primary employer or main one for part-time teachers)
- E-mail/Contact information:
- Short Biography: MAX 50 words per author
- Photos (headshot, for publicity):
- Abstract: MAX 100 words (English) or 200 characters (Japanese)
