Description
Japanese students are accustomed to learning English through an EFL or ESL curriculum which provides a myriad of content, but isn’t necessarily focused. While students are learning English in these courses, it may or may not help them in their future academic studies. Studying English through Mediated Instruction can help them to achieve English proficiency and academic learning experiences.
The presenter will discuss the course they teach and results of a survey conducted with their EMI students to show EMI not only helps students in learning English, but also may help them in their future academic pursuits.
