Description
This year’s Global Issues in Language Education Forum focuses upon introducing practical approaches to aiding students in connecting global issues to local voices. Global issues sometimes seem abstract to students, disconnected from real people’s lives. By exploring use of a service learning approach, experiences of English teachers in Myanmar’s conflict zones, practical approaches to teaching the SDGs and use of critical media literacy frameworks, educators will leave inspired to address global issues in their classrooms.
