In many parts of the world, the curriculum is shaped by language textbooks, which play a central role in language instruction. In EFL contexts, opportunities to improve speaking fluency outside the classroom remain limited. In this workshop, we will explore OUP’s new textbook series, Straight Up, and its accompanying support materials. The presenter will also share tasks that balance accuracy, fluency, and complexity to support effective communication practice beyond the textbook.
