Description
Editors from The Language Teacher, JALT Journal, and the JALT Postconference Publication will introduce their publication processes, submission requirements, and opportunities for authors. They will discuss common reasons manuscripts are rejected and share advice for preparing stronger submissions. The session will also highlight professional development opportunities through JALT Publications and include time for audience questions about manuscripts and the publication process. If time permits, attendees may also take part in a brief peer-review activity.
Abstract section 4: Outcomes/results
The editors will talk about some of the most common reasons manuscripts are rejected and offer advice based on problems they regularly encounter during review and editing. The session will also cover ways that working with JALT Publications can contribute to professional development, including opportunities beyond publishing an article. The session will include time for questions, and attendees are encouraged to ask about manuscripts they are currently developing, choosing the most appropriate publication or submission type, and other questions about the publication process.

Publishing with JALT can look quite different depending on where and what an author hopes to publish. Editors from The Language Teacher (TLT), JALT Journal (JJ), and the JALT Postconference Publication (PCP) will explain how their publication processes work, what kinds of submissions they accept, and what authors should know before sending in a manuscript. They will also discuss opportunities available through each publication, along with requirements that authors sometimes overlook.
