Abstract section 1: Relevance

The CLIL teacher education program (CTEP) is a certification program that has the purpose of training teachers to become CLIL educators. CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) is a methodology that is "best seen as a way of bringing together a range of pedagogical and methodological principles and perspectives for the integration of content and language" (Morton and Llinares, 2017, p. 1). The presenter suggests CLIL methodology as beneficial for classrooms so content can drive learning. Language teachers may teach English for no obvious reason (TENOR) (Coyle et al., 2010), however through CLIL, content can aid student motivation.
