Description

The Open Vocabulary Level Test (“OpenVLT”) is a computer adaptive, vocabulary level test that generates an English level score based on the CEFR, an internationally recognized standard for English assessment. The test is made available at no cost on EnglishCentral and other sites, including Moodle. The OpenVLT allows teachers, e-learning solution providers and researchers to share an open source, royalty-free, widely-available vocabulary level test that can accurately determine students’ English level. The OpenVLT -- and associated test items, source code and a detailed spec -- are freely available in a repository maintained by the Center For Open Science (OSF), whose mission is to increase openness, integrity, and reproducibility of research.
