Description
This presentation is sponsored by Tsuda University Graduate Student Showcase. This study explores how content-based instruction (CBI) can promote the development of productive English vocabulary for speaking among students. Students gave presentations on vocabulary learned in three thematic lessons from a textbook. Data were collected through these presentations and two questionnaires. The study demonstrates the effectiveness of CBI by showing vocabulary profile, tokens and accuracy of target vocabulary, and changes of perceptions of productive vocabulary.
