Description

Temple University GSS. The consonant /ɾ/ often interferes with the mapping of separate phonological categories for /ɹ/ and /l/ for Japanese learners of English. This interference ultimately leads to challenges in accurate reception and production. The first part of the presentation will explore the relevant literature broadly. Part two explains how this research informed the design of a targeted intervention and concludes with a reflection of the efficacy of that treatment in a classroom setting.
