Abstract section 3: Content/method
The session will demonstrate practical classroom activities using AI-supported tools for reading, vocabulary learning, pronunciation practice, writing support, and interactive quizzes. Each tool will be introduced through short classroom scenarios illustrating how it can be used to scaffold learning, differentiate instruction, and promote student interaction. Participants will analyze example tasks, discuss pedagogical applications, and explore how these tools can be adapted for different proficiency levels and classroom contexts.

Abstract section 2: Contribution/research questions
The purpose of this session is to introduce a curated set of AI-supported digital tools that teachers can easily integrate into English language classrooms. The presentation focuses on identifying which tools are most effective for specific language-learning goals and explaining why they work pedagogically. It aims to help teachers confidently adopt accessible technologies that enhance engagement, support mixed-proficiency learners, and encourage active language use rather than passive reliance on AI-generated outputs.
Abstract section 4: Outcomes/results
Participants will leave the session with practical strategies for integrating AI tools into everyday teaching. The workshop will introduce reliable tools that support reading comprehension, vocabulary development, speaking practice, writing revision, and interactive assessment. Participants will learn how to select tools based on pedagogical goals, design tasks that encourage critical engagement with AI outputs, and adapt activities for mixed-ability classrooms. The session will also provide guidance on balancing AI support with teacher-guided instruction to maintain meaningful language learning. Attendees will receive examples of ready-to-use activities that can be implemented immediately in classrooms with internet-connected student devices.
Abstract section 1: Relevance
AI and digital learning platforms are rapidly reshaping language education, yet many teachers remain uncertain how to integrate them pedagogically. Research suggests AI can support differentiated learning, scaffolding, and feedback in language classrooms (Godwin-Jones, 2023; Zou et al., 2022), while also requiring AI literacy and teacher guidance to prevent passive learning (Holmes et al., 2023). This session presents classroom-tested AI tools that support reading, vocabulary, speaking, and writing development. Grounded in principles of comprehensible input, cognitive load reduction, and active learning, the session demonstrates strategies for integrating AI tools into English classrooms with internet-connected student devices.
